Siden januar hvor vi opholdt os på Ørslevkloster og skrev det meste af Tilbage til Haven, har vi indspillet og mikset på værket. Vi har indspillet alle de instrumenter vi kunne og inviteret musikere og sangere til at være med. Samtidig har vi justeret, at musikken passer til stien, landskabet og rutens længde. Det har været en spændende og lærerig proces at komponere og indspille musik på denne måde.

Since January, when we stayed at Ørslevkloster and composed most of Tilbage til Haven, we have been busy recording and mixing the music. We have recorded many different instruments, inviting various musicians and singers to join us. At the same time, we have continuously adjusted the music to suit the path, the landscape and the length of the route. It has been an exciting and educational process to compose and record music in this way.

Aksel Striim, som vi lærte at kende, da han i efteråret 2023 satte en af sine vindharper op i landskabet ved Sneptrup.
Aksel er multiinstrumentalist og har bidraget til TBTH med cello, klarinet, seljefløjte og andre (hjemmebyggede) unikke fløjter.
Aksel Striim, whom we got to know when he set up one of his wind harps on the landscape at Sneptrup in autumn 2023.
Aksel is a multi-instrumentalist and has contributed with cello, clarinet, seljeflute and other (home-made) unique-sounding flutes.
Anne Eltard er violinist, lydkunstner og meget mere med solid baggrund i det danske musikmiljø. Anne gav koncert på Skanderborgkanten i vinters, og det var oplagt at spørge om hun ville spille med på projektet. Ja, sagde hun heldigvis. Brug af effekter på violinen et af Annes varemærker, det kommer frem på stykket “Reflections”.
Anne Eltard is a violinist, sound artist and much more, with a solid background in the Danish music scene. Anne gave a concert near Skanderborg last winter, and it was natural to ask if she wanted to play on the project. “Yes,” she said happily. The use of effects on the violin is one of Anne's trademarks, and it comes out especially on the piece “Reflections.”
Søren Poulsen er trommeslager i nogle af de bedste danske live-bands pt - og hey! han bor i Tåning - som vi. Søren går ind med den mest smittende legesyge, kreative energi og ‘rooter’ altid for first-takes, dér hvor musikken virkelig lever.
Søren Poulsen is a drummer in some of the finest Danish live bands at the moment - and hey, he lives in Tåning - like us! Søren brings with him the most contagious playful, creative energy and always 'roots' for first-takes, where the music really lives.
Med Lovis Bechmann og Jørgen Andersens fine stemmer har vi fået det præg af vokalensemble-lyd, som vi ønskede på flere af stykkerne. Det var også modigt, at de kastede sig ud i fri improvisation på ‘Betlehem’.
With Lovis Bechmann and Jørgen Andersen's fine voices, we have gotten the vocal ensemble that we wanted on several of the pieces. It was brave and beautiful how they threw themselves into the free improvisation on the piece 'Betlehem'.
Og ikke mindst har vi nydt godt af Koret på Toppen, som vi skrev om i sidste blog.
Den allersidste optagelse lavede vi på skaterbanen i Hylke en dag sidst i april. Lyden af Mads’ skateboard er gemt inde i et af tracks’ne. Vent og se om du kan høre hvor!
Miksning af albummet er foregået løbende her hos os - i Marks hænder - og med en ‘hotline’ ud til Kent Olsen, som er lidt af en specialist, ikke mindst på vokal-området.
Hele Tilbage til Haven - Voices & Traces er nu sendt til mastering hos John McCaig . Vi er ovenud spændte på resultatet!
And not least have we enjoyed Koret på Toppen, which we wrote about in the last blog.
We did our very last recording at the skateboard park in Hylke one day at the end of April. The sound of Mads' skateboard is hidden inside one of the tracks. Wait and see if you can hear where!
Mixing of the album has taken place continuously here - in Mark's hands - with a 'hotline' to the guidance of Kent Olsen, who is a bit of a specialist, not least in the vocal area.
The entire recording of Tilbage til Haven - Voices & Traces has now been sent for mastering by John McCaig. We are beyond excited for the result!
